The corner of Annankatu and Eerikinkatu has been known as a fun place for a century. In the early decades of the 1900s the micro-brewery of the brewer Yrjö Kastrén operated on the corner.
Today, the Czech-minded pivnice Hostina provides the fun here. Hostina's selection covers nearly all the Czech beers available in Finland, and the interior decoration of the restaurant is certainly unique: Hostina carries on Yrjö Kastrén's tradition. The brewer, bowing to the innovations of the modern era, developed miraculous equipment over the decades, which, for example, converted excess beer into lollies, optimised the coldness and made electricity from unuseable barley.
